In this special edition of the Podcast we meet the security expert John R Schindler, a former NSA-analyst who is now a commentator for Observer.com. The conversation is about ”what is going on in The White House!”, the constitutional crise that is now coming closer, the Russian meddling, and the security implications of all this.

Some quotes from mr Schindler during the conversation (which was recorded 17th of May in Prague during Stratcom Summit arranged by the Czech think-thank European Values):

”Trump has a childs understanding of American government”.

”You can not run a major power like this. And the damage it is doing to US leadership on the world stage is enormous”.

”When he is on the bridge of the Titanic and sees the iceberg coming let us hope he steers around it and walks away. But I don´t know if he would do that”.

John R Schindler during Stratcom Summit

A Swedish summary of the conversation is also published in Swedish at Helahalsingland.se.

FILE - In this Monday, May 11, 2015, file photo, this aerial photo taken through a glass window of a military plane shows China's alleged on-going reclamation of Mischief Reef in the Spratly Islands in the South China Sea. China’s campaign of island building in the South China Sea might soon quadruple the number of airstrips available to the People’s Liberation Army in the highly contested and strategically vital region. That could be bad news for other regional contenders, especially the U.S., the Philippines and Vietnam. (Ritchie B. Tongo/Pool Photo via AP, File)

China protested a trip made by Filipino lawmakers to disputed areas in the South China Sea to assert the claim of the Philippines. Ethan Sun, spokesman for the Chinese embassy in Manila, said the trip scheduled was 'against the spirit' of a code of conduct signed by claimants to the areas in 2002.
